Introduction to Blog Posts

Staying on topic and writing what came to mind when writing these blog entries were my greater strengths. When the professor says not to think but just write down whatever comes to your mind or don’t worry about the grammar/spelling/mechanics, I tend to think if I should write it down or not. I over think what I’m supposed to write and it messes up my writing process. If I see an error, I have to fix it because it would bother me and being that I’m focused on correcting errors I forget what comes to mind. These entries reveal that my development as a writer/ reader or film critic shows that I need more improvement as I go. What these entries reveal about my development of my critical thinking abilities over this term shows that my skills are stuck on high school writing. In high school you only learn about two types of papers that are persuasives and narratives. High school is very standard; they don’t teach you how to be creative or use your critical thinking skills which obviously can affect your future writing. I just hope to improve my critical thinking skills as I go through school and life.
